They say a picture paints a thousand words, and I’ve devoted my photography career to making sure the photos I take of people tell the right story and not the wrong one.
I’m the Headshot Diva, and I take headshots of businessmen and women which make them look their best – but still look like them.
I’ve photographed people of all ages, races and backgrounds and the one thing they all have in common is they want headshots which represent them and look great.
I also help my clients think about how great photography can be used to represent their businesses. Together we devise a portfolio of photos, ready for when they are needed – for press releases, social media, marketing, newsletters.
My passion for photography comes from my love of people – meeting people, greeting people, interacting with people and a fair bit of people watching!
Why am I different? I take time – as much as it needs – to make my clients feel confident, and comfortable, to show them how to pose so they look natural and at their best. And when I finally point the camera and take those photos they are delighted with the result.
If you’d like to know more about what makes a great headshot, I’ve written a book, Headshot Diva.
And if you’d like to chat about headshot photos or commercial photography, please get in touch with me, Lis McDermott – the Headshot Diva.

Giving money and support where people need it most
My photo shoot with Lis was fun and enjoyable and produced the best photos of myself that I have ever seen. Unlike other photographic sessions, when I’ve felt wooden and awkward, Lis really helped me to relax and enjoy the whole process so that the photos showed me looking natural and happy, and allowed my personality to show through. Lis is a friendly, approachable and thoroughly professional photographer and I recommend her unreservedly!
